I was planning on taking physics and orgo (1 and 2) at a CC for the upcoming spring and fall semesters...

Im nervous now because I'm reading that this may not be a good idea? I just graduated from a 4 year university with a 3.91 overall, and a 4.00 science gpa (at the 4 year I took, bio 1, bio 2, chem 1, chem 2, anatomy, phys, genetics, pre-calc and calc 1). Unfortunately, my financial situation (divorced parents, both incomes below poverty line) had me graduate earlier than I wanted and having to finish phyiscs and orgo at a CC.

Any advice? Thanks!

Many schools will accept prereqs from a CC, but it is, and I'm quoting the NYU SoM website when I say this, "not recommended"

Not an issue for DO but might be an issue for MD.... Get 35+ mcat and it won't be an issue at all.

Although I'm still on the journey to becoming a physician, my target schools are cool with CC work. From what I gathered, a med school person...not the receptionist but someone else 🙂 told me that because of my upper division work with both my previous BA and my BSN plus my grad degree, it shows I can do the work. BUT...that's what I was told. And from your GPA, it looks like you can handle the work.

Best wishes!!
