I graduated from undergrad in 2002. I was a chem major and took all my pre reqs then. Are they tool old to apply to medical schools?

You need to find out what your target schools think. I would call the admissions offices.

Some don't have a limit at all while some want you to retake courses.

I graduated from undergrad in 1998 and did not retake any prereqs. I didn't have any problems. I think RVU COM wants recent grads, but thats the only school I've heard to make this claim.

Thanks guys. That's what I thought: it is school dependent.

drgioiadds: can you give any tips about extra curriculars that MSUCOM looks for?

All the info is on their website, but basically they look for someone who has about 800 hours of volunteer work (since highschool). I truly believe they look at the applicant as a whole. I know that my clinical experience helped me, but I also had been in teaching positions for my volunteer hours. (I coached at the YMCA for over 2 years).
