Will your application still be reviewed if you have a D on one of your pre-requisite courses? I have heard of people getting in to vet schools in the US with D's in some some of their required courses. Anyone know about this?

as far as I understand (keeping in mind that I am a first time applicant), it varies from school to school. Some say right on their website that they require a 2.0 (C) to accept a pre-req. At my undergrad school, most of the pre-reqs for vet school were also required for my BS. So you'd have to retake a D anyway if you wanted your BS. Again, I know it varies from school to school (some schools are probably more understanding than others!). guarenteed someone else on here has a better answer, but I figured I'd give my $0.02. Good luck.

the only way i could see your application still being reviewed is if you had down in the course section that you plan to repeat that course by the end of the spring semester.

most schools that I have seen have C- as the lowest grade they will consider for a pre-req. which means that you will have to repeat the course, and get at least a C- (C for some schools) in order to matriculate should you be accepted.

that being said, many people on here who have been accepted to vet schools have gotten Ds or Fs along the way and did better the 2nd time around, so it is possible, just make sure they know you are planning on retaking that class
