Do we have to have all course finished before we apply to medical school? Or can we have the course in progress for the next term before we apply? I am only asking because I am an engineering major and cannot possibly fit everything in to my schedule.

The only class I will be missing is one semester of inorganic chemistry.

Please let me know.
Thanks.

From what I've read here you need them done before you matriculate.

Make sure their done before you start, welcome and next time a simple search can answer most any "typical" question and even some not so typical questions i.e. To fart or not to fart in the mcat..

so before or after I apply? How do I explain it to medical schools?

You just need to have them done before you matriculate. I believe you are able to list "planned to take" courses on the AMCAS and you will have to send a final transcript at the end of the school year before you would start medical school.

That said, the material on the 4, 2-semester prerequisite courses is what the MCAT tests, which you will need to take at least a year before you would matriculate. If you're comfortable with taking the test without completing the courses first, then by all means, go ahead, but I would wait.
