Hi,

I was wondering if information on predent.com is accurate. Seeing that many people refer to the site indicates that it is useful, and the fact that site is well organized is another sign for the potential.

But I also see some discrepancy among the numbers.
For example, the school that had the highest average GPA for the entering class of 2009 was Nebraska with 3.78. This is different from other database (the chart that Doc tooth posted).

Can I trust the number presented there with 100% certainty?

P.S. Sorry if I got the name wrong Doc. I couldn't remember it correctly from the top of my head.

Nothing can be trusted with 100% certainty, except maybe death.

However, the site does serve as a fair point of reference, YMMV.

.... not everyone is represented on predents.com .... for example, do you have an account on predents? do you intend to? see how it is a choice that you may or may not sign up for? .. doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

whereas the numbers doctoothache posted are from the ADEA Official Guide to Dentistry that is compiled by the ADEA and receives THEIR numbers from each corresponding school...

which do you think is more reliable?

.... not everyone is represented on predents.com ....

if they were can you imagine how easy it would be to get in .....5-20 applicants per school.....

Oh i thought GPAs, and DAT were calculated based on everyone who entered the class.

Didn't know it was done by sampling...

I know for a fact that that the numbers posted on predents.com for the SCHOOLS is accurate and taken from the ADEA book. However, since you can't control what people put in their profiles, any raw stats taken from applicants is potentially misleading.

the reason i know is because I input the information one year and it was straight from the book.
