Another recomendation is to have a category to view all the applicants applying from ones own state. All at once.

and or have one category to view applicants by date of aadsas submission, another for date of interview, and another for date of acceptance by month. Just my opinion.

they should also include what year the applicant applied, for example Yah-E's stats don't apply to us anymore, very rarely will anyone get in with those stats nowadays

I realize that there are D1-D4's in my database now. It is only in beta as of now and I wanted all the data I could get to test the dynamic graph and chart creation, spacing issues, etc.

For the 2007 cycle, it will be crystal clear what cycle you are viewing and/or entering data for, I promise.

A good suggestion.

However, my vision (an experience as a pre-dent) was that it should be school-centric, and not applicant-centric. What I mean by this is that you look up a school and see what's happening there instead of an applicant, and what they're doing. You can of course look at an applicant but only from the school page. When I was freaking out about getting in, I was only concerned with the applicants going after MY schools. I couldn't care less about ones applying to Harvard, or Penn because I didn't apply there.

There will be a sort/search function that lists applicants. Right now I plan on showing the "top 10" applicants in GPA, DAT, Most interviewed, Most accepted, etc, etc. I can also add a state search if people want it but I don't really know what infomation that can give.

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them bad boys coming!

Thanks for putting up the school stats from the 42nd edition. Do you know what cycle that information is from?

Also are you going to put back up the rankings of schools by GPA, DAT, etc, that you had up earlier?

Actually, I just got the 44th edition (2005-2006 class) and spent all damn day typing it in!!

I also put up the ranking selections. Choose GPA and you will be very surprised what the rank is!!!

hey PDIZZLE, you're right, the GPA rankings are shocking. as far as DAT, i had no idea that columbia had higher DATs than UCLA. i totally expected UW's position in the ranks. i did not expect UCONN's DAT. stony brook faired better than uconn in 2004-2005 but last year, UCONN faired better. interesting!!!!. the biggest shock was NYU's tuition!!! the poor school gets bashed for being so expensive and yet it is less costly than BU, Penn, UOP and USC..i guess if you live in queens or another borough of nyc and commute to the school, NYU would be awesome..after all, the school is good and now their building is really nice in the inside

..nice job PDIZZLE....

by the wway:

there are many SDN predents who are not on predents.com which sucks. i guess they consider their stats to be the state's classified info. party poopers man 😀 😀 😀

Does the 44th edition have the statistics for the incoming class of 2005, the current 1st years?

I knew my class had pretty good stats in general, but Im still surprised to see the avg. gpa at a 3.55 😱 . But, I expected the DATs to be a little higher, closer to 20. In any case, thanks for the info.

One recommendation though, regarding the "top 10" list. I think this may encourage people to fudge their stats a little to get into the top 10. Just a thought.

i agree the top 10 list not a good idea.

I think the only reason people take the poll more than once is to see the results again. Hence, if there was a way to see the results without revoting, I think it would negate the purpose to revote.

No problem. All I want is for it to be appreciated and used as a tool for the upcoming predents.....poor bastards!!

Well, as the poll suggests, I will now make the poll a one time deal. Now I need to start thinking of some good poll questions.

Whoa!....I just had an idea. I will make a poll suggestion page where people can submit their polls and at the bottom give the user credit for the poll.

I'll put that on my super long list of stuff to do.

Now that you mention it, I agree with the top ten thing maybe getting peeps to fudge their numbers but I think some do that already (SDN signatures included).

Keep all feedback and suggestions coming, I need this thing fully deatured and running like a champ before I start D-School!!

Also, if you support my work/vision please put a link in your signature (Like my #1 fan, FightingSpirit!!)

Thanks!

Another problem that most predents have is what are the course requirements and number of units for each course needed. flipping through each school is a pain as well. It would be great to post those too under each school.

That's more work then you think. Typing in data is a pain in the rump!

If someone out there has the 44th edition and wants to help me out, I can set up a special admin zone where you can log in and update the school database for me.

PM me if you have the time and the book and want to help the cause of PreDents.com.

What are you saying, my stats aren't good enough?

I know, I pull a lot of the average waaaaaaaaaaaaay down...my bad....

I tried to remove my profile, but there is no option on that site to do that.

You should set up a Paypal account where people can donate money to you for all your hardwork. I would give you a buck or two! You're non-profit, but donations are always good! I bet SDNers will provide you some compensation for your great invention and time. 👍

Thanks. I have actually been offered donations several times so far without even asking! The support I have recieved from SDN has been overwhelming.

If I do set up a donation, I won't need PayPal as I have a business merchant account and can take Visa, MC, AMX, Discover and even do bank transfers! LOL (at least for the next 6 months, I own my own web design company).

I will definitley need the extra cash when I am eating Mac 'N Cheese 5 times/week!

I will remove your account but don't worry, I am setting up something very big that you will be able to participate in. I am setting up very detailed D-School review page where current/past students can fill out a long survey and rank the school they attend. You will have many areas to rank the school in (1 through 10) and can write about your school to your hearts content.

I think it's important to get a feel for a school and not just the numbers. This way, PreDents can hear it straight from the students! Also, it allows non-predents to participate in my website. It's a win-win.

Expect this feature soon (in web design speak, that means when I get to it!)

This and much more is coming. You have only seen about 50% of what my website will become once the 2007 cycle begins, which is around the corner.

Support me by putting my link in your signature! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

great job! thanks so much. UOP always amazes me (GPA=3.32 #52, DAT=20.8 #5). It looks like UOP always looks for applicants with very High DATs+very Low GPAs. 😕

Can the predent.com website include some of the Canadian dental schools as well. It would be useful for canadians and americans who is applying for both canadian and u.s. dental school. Just a suggestion!
