interesting, may be helpful as a biomarker of diagnosing unstable angina, although that seems to be several studies away.

I'm not sure it would do away with any current tests, though, at least in EM. trop has other uses besides determining NSTEMI. It is a good marker of end-organ dysfunction in sepsis or PE (although an echo would be better), it may be the only factor revealing myocarditis, it's elevated in demand ischemia from tachyarrhythmias, it's good for risk-stratifying pericarditis.
