What do you prefer to do while working on your patients: listening to music, or watching/listening to the t.v.?

If there is one thing I noticed while on OMFS rotations and externships at 5 different hospitals... The oral surgery residents always bring a boombox into the OR and play music while they do the surgery.

I guess it serves as some sort of background noise to break up the monotonous beeps of the monitoring equipment to keep one from being mesmerized. Music also has a rythm so it might be better to work with rather than TV noise I guess.
