What do you guys think?

Can I Contact a prelim (medicine) program at the same hospital where I already received a PM&R (advanced) interview? Basically asking them to throw me a bone (interview) since I am already there for another interview?

Let me know what you guys think regarding this strategy. Worth it ? Or not? Please also explain. Thanks.

PS: keep in mind that I already applied to that prelim also. First time poster so might not have posted at the right place. Please forgive me 🙂

It definitely doesn't hurt to email the prelims, in my experience some programs were very willing to help coordinate with your advanced spot IV dates while others weren't but the only way to find out was to email/call them and see

Thanks for the quick reply. I was checking if it was a well practiced concept. I'll email some prelims and see what kind of feed back I get. Not high hopes b/c most PM&R programs are university affiliated meaning their IM Prelims must be super competetive. But like you said "it doesn't hurt". Im looking forward to what others might have to say regarding this topic. Thanks guys.

I'd call the program coordinator instead of e-mailing them. Calling is much more personal (and far less likely to get ignored)--express how interested you are in the program and let them know that you'll be interviewing at the advanced program. I've got a few interview invites right then and there over the phone. Sometimes they'll say they'll pass on the info to the program director, and to check back in a week, etc. But unless you're rude on the phone, I don't think it can hurt you.

I would definitely call or email, like mentioned above, your chances are better at getting an answer with calling.

Thanks RangerBob and thedeepend, I'll be sure to call them instead.
