hi guys, I would like some helpful feedback/recommendation regarding my current situation.
US osteopath entered match this year. Very interested in anesthesia but did not take the STEPs (only COMLEX.... I scheduled COMLEX first and burnt out after taking it so ended up cancelling step 1). I am paying for it now but thats past and i am moving forward). Have done 5 audition rotations and interviewed at 2 programs i am really interested in. I have applied to some prelim medicine programs but it was very late so i have not heard back from many of them and don't think i ever will. I am planning for the worst (which is probably what will happen) but need some recommendations on my strategy. My plan is (if i don't match or scramble into a categorical or advanced anesthesia position) to basically try to SOAP into either a prelim medicine or surgery program. I am single and don't care where i go as long as i have a position and I am planning on studying for STEPs from Feb to May (during easy 4th year rotations) and take step 1 in May of this year to enter the match again for either PGY1 or 2 position for the next cycle.
