hi,
got a couple of questions
1)if applying to prelim year ,can we state pgy2 interest as int med
2) with that said, if one applies to both prelim year and cat int med at the same hospital, will it negatively affect ones chances?

3)also if we apply to int med primary care and int med categorical at the same hosp, will that also be a negative?

thank you

1. Yes, but what you are really saying is "I want categorical IM, but if you don't think I'm qualified for cat IM I'll take prelim IM, and then hopefully impress you and get a cat spot".

2. Not really.

3. This is totally fine, if you're interested in both.
