preliminary medicine opening? Advanced matched!

I am matched to an advanced neurology program with no preliminary position. the scramble was a hell. I contacted my advanced program but they seem to run out of ideas. any suggestions for potential openings, alternative or creative curriculum (but legally)?

Just start cold calling IM programs, and try to network also with IM attendings at your med school. Let them know that you really need an IM spot for next year, etc. I guess you have already asked your neuro PD, as well as the IM department at your current med school, to see if they can create an IM internship spot for you?

don't know how frequently I should do that. I guess it is very annoying for them too.
