Hello. I'm a bit confused.. So you apply in February/March to med school your junior year, and start getting acceptances fall of your senior year?

nope, you start applying in the summer after your junior year and will start interviewing in the fall of your senior year, with acceptances rolling in anytime between October 15 and spring of senior year.

Then why is it ideal to study MCATs during the summer of your junior year. Some people I know are taking it summer of their junior year already! I guess it's because it's a lot of free time?

I suppose you mean the summer prior to your junior year? Some people like to take the exam right after they've finished their pre-reqs, which may be after sophomore year. It also gives people enough time to plan and study for a potential retake. Or, as you said, they just have free time and want to get it out of the way so they can focus exclusively on applying the following year.

I personally took it after my junior year, which did make things a bit hectic, but it worked out, and I probably wouldn't have scored as high as I did without taking some of my junior-level courses.
