What does it mean when we say we must premedicate the patient? Are we talking about premedicating with antibiotics for patients with infectious problems, such as endocartitis?

Yes. Or any other condition that requires or contraindicates premedication (e.g. hypertension, corticosteroid therapy, etc) before performing txt. You should take an oral medicine class at some point in the curriculum that dictates when and when not to premedicate.

Thanks a lot for clearing it up for me!!
