Hello everyone! So I just graduated from college this December and am going to be studying for my DAT February & March in preparation to take the exam in April. I am starting to look for materials to purchase to prepare for the exam but I am so super confused... I have asked several dental students and two recently admitted pre-dents and everyone has different advice making it a HUGE challenge.

Anyways, I am pretty sure I want to get the DAT Destroyer book because I have heard it recommended many MANY times. However, I am weak in math and VERY VERY VERY weak in organic chem (B first semester & C second semester barely). Not sure if I should purchase additional materials for these sections or just rely on the DAT destroyer book? I ask because I am seriously considering also getting the Organic Chemistry Odyssey book offered on the Orgoman site.

PAT... Someone recommended 'Crack the DAT' just for this section... What do you think? I think that this section will be hard for me as well.

Anyways there is so much out there and I am very confused. It is all also really expensive so I want to make sure that I make good investments!

Other info: I did well in school but STRUGGLED HARD on the last standardized test I took in high school (the SAT) so I am a bit freaked for this monster of an exam. I just overall have always thought my strong point would be my GPA and my DAT would be just meh. A's in gen chem, A & B in bios, B & C in ochem, As in biochem, B in precalc, C in calc, A in microbio, As in anatomy & physiology. I feel like my overall knowledge is very average.

Any help/advice would be sincerely appreciated!

1. Chad's Videos from coursesaver for general chemistry and organic chemistry are a must!
2. Cliffs AP Biology 3rd edition(PDF FREE ONLINE) to relearn all the biology
3. Destroyer is so good for solidifying concepts and seeing where you need to put more time. It's apparently much harder, but it helps.
4. Math Destroyer if you need a lot of math practice
5. Dat Bootcamp for test simulation

This is what I've been using as these have all been highly recommended by everyone here. My test is in 19 days!

You only need to have lost and lots of practice. There are many prep materials for practice. Different online sources too, but at last only the practice will help you to sought the test or any test prep. Go for different additional resource and test yourself once, twice, thrice, as many times till you get free.
All the best.

For the same amount of money you are going to pay for CDP, you actually get better practice with Genius or Achiever plus three other complete sections, sciences, reading and qr...

Hi Omar nice to see you again xD! You sound like your grades are better than mine!! I did similarly in orgo and thought chads and destroyer were enough but it's different for everyone. Genius, bootcamp and destroyer are the materials I'd recommend the most! If youre weak in math feel free to send me questions or as me anything! Math is super fun for me xD
