I am a coordinator for a Psychopathology course that teaches over 300 medical students a year. Aside from reviewing the notes for my course (and I may be fooling myself into believing that happens), how else do students prepare for the psychiatry questions on the COMLEX Level 1 (and USMLE Step 1)? I've heard of Kaplan Qbank being popular, but what are the current most popular prep books, online programs/test banks, and courses (live and on DVD)? I want to prepare my students for Board exams -- covering the most applicable content in my course (and for the transition to the psychiatry clerkship that I coordinate). How satisfied are students with how well these materials prepared them for the psychiatry content on the standardized exams? Finally, how well do the organizations that produce COMLEX and USMLE indicate what sort of psychiatry content may show up on the exams?
