Dear SDN

I am currently preparing for what I am sure will be a very exciting summer of interviewing and choosing a medical school. I will be graduating this spring, have taken the MCAT, and look forward to submitting my AMCAs on the earliest date in June. I would like to hear your suggestions about what I should do in preparation.

First I will tell you what I am doing and you can suggest whatever else you like.

1. Preparing AMCAS, writing personal statement + peer review
2. reading and drafting answers to medical school interview questions
3. looking into programs that are interesting

One specific question that I have is there anything that I can do in terms of applications before the earliest AMCAS submission date which I believe is June 5th? I realize that this is the first step in the application process but I would just like to be certain.

Thank you for advice

summer of interviewing.

lol

But um. you should have your PS somewhat planned out by now.

The AMCAS application opens sometime in May and you can begin filling in the blanks, giving you pleanty of time to proofread your Experiences Section before it's time to submit. Your PS should be ready to go by then.

You'll need your school list when you submit, so get a copy of the MSAR and research the schools you'll be targeting.

An item I'd insert before studying up on interview questions, would be to prewrite Secondary essays. The ones from last year are available on the School Specific threads. They are 95% the same from year to year.
