Does anyone know any good books that they used to prep for dental school interviews (I know there is a ton of material out there but I was just wondering if someone has a book that they really like or have heard good things about)...Thanks in advance!

^ Good question

Also, for those members more familiar with SDN, where can we find posts from people who have already been to interviews and have posted about their experience to help others prepare. I have found some scattered info by searching per school, but nothing too helpful.

If you're still in school, then see if they do mock interviews. Mine does this, but I'm not sure about every where else.

To be honest, the mock interview session at my school (which is most likely not the same as anyone elses) was NOT that usefull. I felt like they just really didn't care because it wasn't their future at stake. AGAIN, this was at MY school (a small school most have probably never heard of) and may not be the same as your experience! I would use that, but not only that! Make sure you know your APP very well so that you can talk about it in case anything is brought up. I would try to use friends and family to try and help! Get a recorder and try answering questions while recording so you can listen back. Make sure to support what you say, i.e. if you say you are motivated tell them how you started the pre-dental program at your school or something like that. Besides that make sure to smile and show them you want to be at their school! Try to show them the features they are looking for in a student (maturity, responsibility, high morals...etc).

Best of luck to you all!

Oh and make sure to get a good night sleep before, one of the interviews I had I waited for family to pick me up and they were like 3 hours late so I didn't get to sleep early and wasn't really awake for that interview. Needless to say I am not part of that school!
