Preparing for Pharmacy School

Just curious, did anyone take a pharmacy preparation course/review/thingeebob? I was curious what schools offer this. I know Midwestern-Chicago has a pharmacy review.

Does any other colleges offer this? If so, what did you think?

Nursing pharmacology at a local CC might give you just enough overview. I thought about taking one, but the school I looked at didnt have the online course this summer, and the school is on the other side of the state.

UCF has Intro to Pharmacology (junior level course), Medical Pharmacology I and II (senior level courses)... and they're all online.

I took a senior/graduate level pharmacology class last year. Definitely the most interesting class I ever enrolled in. No pharm prep course here in Memphis....infact I've never heard of one before. However, I will be doing ALOT of reading this summer. Tonight, for instance, along with a glass of Chard I will be reading up on cholinergic nerve transmission. Beautifully complex!!! Eventually will do a Biochem review, too I think. Complex without the beauty. Then, whatever else I can get my hands on...

My advisor said there are programs that help you prepare for pharmacy school with workshops on applications, PCAT, etc. But of course she had no clue who offered these programs.

If you got into pharmacy school, you wont be needing to take a refresher course. It will just waste what free time you have left before school, and anything that you need work on, there will be plenty of others in your class that do to, so just learn/relearn it ast it comes.

i had to take a pharmacology/toxicology class... so far, it's still irrelavant to what we've been learning ... for the most part i'll say the stuff i learned from that pharm/tox class was alot harder that what i've seen at usc thus far! but ya, if u're in already, don't worry about taking a refresher class.. just enjoy ur summer!
