Hi!

I am planning on taking the DAT next April/May, but I've sort of started studying for it from now. I don't feel confident enough to take it by the end of this summer but then again I'm not sure if I'll be able to find enough time during the year to study for it with school going on. Did any of you manage to study for the DAT during the year? You think I should just take it by the end of this summer?
Thanks!

I'll be preparing for it during this upcoming semester. I reduced my course load (~15 credits) and didn't go overboard with other commitments (just a part-time job on campus and research). I study most effectively during the school year, so I'm working DAT review into my normal studying schedule.

Whatever the reason, don't take the DAT until you're ready.

You still have plenty of time to study and crush the DAT before classes begin again. If I were you I would start studying now and take it before you go back. I studied sparingly throughout the spring semester and then studied hard for 4-5 weeks after graduation. I much rather would have had a summer to spend studying, BUT, the ultimate decision falls back on you. If you don't feel comfortable taking it this summer then take it when you will feel ready. Another year of test taking to boost your confidence going into the DAT certainly wouldn't hurt.

Edit: What @confidentandgood said is wise. I also planned on reducing my courseload/research but then I ended up adding courses anyway, lol. Studying for the DAT is at least 3+ credits in and of itself.

Yea it's reasonable what you're saying. if you don't mind me asking when were you planning on taking it and submitting your applications?

This is a longshot, but if you are looking to buy DAT prep materials (DAT Destoryer), I have them for sale. Best of luck to you and everyone else!
