Hey everyone so I have a friend who's interested in becoming a PT and he needs some input on the issue of taking prereqs at a community college vs. university. He's from CA and I'm not too sure how the PT schools in CA view taking the prereqs at a community college. He already has his Bachelors in Sociology where he graduated from one of the UCs and so financially it's in his best interest to take the prereqs at a local community college. Would it be alright if he took his prereqs at a community college or should he take them at a university? Thanks everyone.

I don't see a problem with taking prerequisite courses at a CC. Some schools require upper division biology, kinesiology, etc. but he or she can tailor those course around the CC courses, if applicable.

That is completly fine i have friends who did that as well and got in! He will be just fine do that it makes more sense to it at cc and it will save him money. Please help with my question!

Tell him to double check the program requirements on the PTCAS program directory just to make sure (there are a few schools who require a certain class or 2 at a 4 year). Otherwise, go CC all the way!! (I did all my pre reqs at a CC....it was cheap and easy schedule to do around work).
