Most schools require two semesters of a biology lab. Does it matter what level these courses are? I have taken 1 upper level biology lab and am signed up for another this fall but I also recall taking an intro 100 lvl biology lab at a community college a few years back and was curious if that would suffice for most dental schools. If so, I would be saving a lot of time and money this fall since I won't be a full-time student and i'll be working part-time. Anyone have a clue what constitutes as a legitimate bio "lab" ?

You are likely to get at least 62 different opinions on what "legitimate bio lab" is, but if you have taken upper level courses with labs it is unlikely that you will be asked to go back and take intro bio labs.

my question was moreso asking whether or not intro level bio labs count as dental prereqs, or do they have to be upper lvl bio labs. sorry if that was confusing

They don't have to be upper level. My schools required one year biology w. lab. So, I took biology I and II. I find it strange that you have taken upper levels without the basic biology? Because, upper levels are recommended, but normally you have to take intro bio before upper levels.

I would recommend calling/emailing the schools you are interested in applying to and asking them directly so you don't waste time/money on taking an extra class if you don't need it.

I took bio 1 at a community college and it came with the lab course, but when I transferred to a 4 year university they didn't accept the lab credit. I've taken both intro bio 1 and 2 but I wasn't sure whether or not the dental schools would accept that lab from community college since my 4 year university didn't accept it.

If it was not accepted by the university you attended than it is unlikely that ds will accept it.
