So for my bio sequence i did general biology 1 and got a B no big deal, but then took cell bio and got a C-....So I need another bio class right? I have anatomy and phys 1 and 2 but im guessing those dont count? Is it ok if i still apply to DO school in june then just list biology 2 as "in progress" on my app and take it at the local community college before i matriculate?

i believe you can. You need to complete your prereqs before you matriculate.

Thanks, the general consensus is that almost all DO schools just require pre reqs completed before matriculation right? Is there any that require them done sooner? I already have my degree so im guesisng I could just take bio 2 at my local community college before matriculation since i already have my bachelors degree..

Im pretty sure all medical schools require you to complete the prereqs before matriculate.

I don't ever recall the schools specifically requiring "Bio I & II." I think it's just 8 semester units of "Bio/Zoology," which includes many courses in addition to the aforementioned. AACOMAS has a list of that somewhere 😴 You might be able to avoid taking Bio II 😉

FYI, I'm looking at my AACOMAS app, and my Physiology course is listed under Bio/Zoology.

They might accept anatomy and physiology...

That would be awesome if they did accept anatomy, thanks for the help guys!

Taking another look at some of the DO programs that I'm looking at, I concur that you need to show 8 semester credits of Biology with lab in most cases. If you have the lab for Anatomy, especially if listed separately this will work. If not listed separately, I'll let someone else answer this as well but my understanding is you will need to specifically spell out that the lab was part of the Anatomy grade. Good luck with your applications this cycle.

You might have to retake a prereq that is a C- or lower. I'm not 100% sure about this, but look into it.

just checked and for DO school anatomy and phy is listed under biology so I guess i can use that to sub for cell bio. ballin.
