Hi, I was reading through a lot of the posts in this forum and I think I have a fairly good idea about what I should do. However, there is one question I have regarding the prerequisites for med school.

Before I try and get into post-bac programs, I wanted to ask if its recommended to retake prereqs. I didn't do so well in Gen Chem cause of certain circumstances...(two C-'s). Would it be better just to do well in the post-bac or two replace the gen chem and a few other prereq classes after graduating with A's?

I probably should've elaborated more.

Most of the post-bac programs I'm looking into (UCs) require that all the prereqs to be finished before applying. So what I'm really wondering is should I finish up what's left of the prereqs and try really hard to get A as well as stuff for my major (I'm non-science major btw) and then retake the ones I did bad in at a non formal post-bac for a while to raise my GPA to 2.70?

Or would it be better to not take the prereqs and just finish my major and graduate and then take all the required prereqs at a non formal post bac until my GPA is high enough for me to apply for the formal post-bac program?

might be a good idea if u want to apply to DO schools. the aacomas takes the latest grade so if u can pull off A's, might be worth it.
