prerequisite courses

Hi,
I have a question about the prerequisite courses. How many credits do I need to be done with by the time of application? Does it negatively affect my application if I don't have that many prerequisites done by that time?

I think the best way to find out is to contact the individual schools. It probably varies for every one.
