Hello!
Does anyone have any insight on this... If you took a prerequisite class and a program does not count it, would your application get tossed or will they still offer admission/ interview and allow you to take the needed course prior to starting the program? For example... if the biology class you took ended up not fulfill the biology prerequisite, would the program tell you that you will need to take a different biology class before the program starts and offer a conditional acceptance? Or would you not even be considered for interviews/ admissions?

I can only share my experience with one school that I talked to (Mercy in NY but this was also several years ago)....when I had a couple of outstanding pre-reqs that I was taking the following semester, I asked if I could apply anyway. They told me yes and there's a way you can fill out the app where you put in the anticipated date you'll take the necessary classes (I did not use PTCAS to apply to my current school so I have no idea if this is true or how to do it) buttttt they highkey said don't bother because DPT schools get so many applicants that they will rank students with complete applications over students with incomplete apps & find enough quality students to fill their cohort without bothering to look at the incompletes, even if they are otherwise competitive.

I'd contact the school/s you are interested in and see how they specifically handle that situation, but I suspect you'll be elbowed out of the way by students with completed apps.

Check with the schools. Usually, schools allow 1-2 outstanding classes. If they do, you can apply with 1-2 classes are missing (you do not need to have a prove of enrollment in those classes either) which will not harm your application in any way. You will get accepted like anyone else. You will have to complete those outstanding classes with at least a C before your PT program starts.
