Theere are four internal medicine programs in Dallas. I think it would be fair to rank them something like this.

1. UTSW -- Large academic center, with county hospital Parkland as main teaching hospital. Great reputation, very good match list, and incredible faculty. Large program 50 residents or so.

2. Baylor University Medical Center -- Large private hospital in Dallas, that considers itself academic. Very nice facilities. Small program (6 residents). Reputation very good within Texas, and match lists tend to be good but mostly into Baylor spots.

3. Presbyterian Hospital Dallas -- Large private hospital in Dallas. Excellent faculty and teaching, Dr. Feldman is a star, but cetainly less academic. Match list is good, but into their own spots.

4. Methodist Hospital Dallas -- Large private hospital. Very strong ties to south dallas community. Certainly a third tier reputation.

Other programs close nearby but technically outside of Dallas.

1. Scott & White -- Excellent private hospital in rural setting. Establishing themselves as an academic center with a 4 year medical school for Texas A&M.
