I am a foreign medical graduate and am wanting to apply for a residency in preventive medicine.

I learnt that preventive medicine has various fields like (Gen Prev Med, Occ Med, Aer Med, & Pub Hlth)

Can anyone give me a brief idea on these specialities?

Do we need a PGY1 to start preventive medicine residency ?
