Dear Forum Members ,i need help on this issue as i really don't know what is the best course of action 😡!!!
Here is my situation,i am an IMG doing PGY2 at university affiliated program (finished internship at Good university program and tranferred because of funding reason ),will be applying for Card Fellowship in the upcoming cycle .
i was a card fellow in my home country before coming to the states ,finished one complete year of training (including training in 2 D echo ,Stress test ,Diagnostic cath ,,,etc ),my question is this gonna help me when i apply for cards or just should i forget about mentioning this in my application as it might be negative thing ,,,i really don't know the correct answer ...
I have excellent board scores ,few Pubs and good letters from my previous program plus the support of 2 IM program directors .

Any input would be appreciated 😉 !!

it seems i've asked a tough question !!!

That's kind of an unusual situation. I really don't know. I would think that it wouldn't hurt to mention it, as long as you don't come across as arrogant or seem like you think you know it all already. I would think it would help to know some echo, etc. Besides, as a foreign medical graduate I think you need something to help set your application apart from others. Are there any faculty @your old institution (in the foreign country) or cardiology faculty at your current institution that you could ask about this?

Thanks for the reply ,that is true and i think it depends on many factors like how people percieve this ,let us say one cardiology PD may consider it as an advantage while another PD might not like the idea 🙁.
you are right in regard to how to present your self and your background in a nice way and personally i think this was the easiest thing i did during my internship training last year despite being IM board certified already ,,,just be nice and easy going and everyone will love you ,that was my golden rule...😉
