When juggling several acceptances, at what point does a significantly cheaper school become the obvious choice for you? 20k? 30k? 40k? Say you had an option, like Penn, that gives you a great shot at specializing, but will end up costing you 80k more than another option, say a state school, that may not tote such impressive specialization rates? Is there any hard cut off for you? obviously this is personal and won't be the same for everyone.

Assuming living expenses would be similar, I would say if the difference is no greater than $40k, I would be willing to attend the more expensive school.

When I entered d-school, my sister put everything in black and white for me. With the crappy loan rates right now, $40k is no joke.

I am attending a school that is about 30k more expensive than my next choice. However, my debt is low either way, which factors into it. I think the "breaking point" would have been a difference of more than 40k.
