After reasearching things, it seems like it is much easier to get into a private school program.

It makes sense, more people try to get into public school becuase it is cheaper.

I am wondering if those low scores that people get into school with are really for public school's... I am reading on this forum that people get in with lower scores, but maybe that is just at the expensive ass private schools. I agree with others that PT probably isn't worth it it you are paying over 60k for your education.

I would have 4+ years of school ahead of me if I wanted to go for it... So this is an epihany... There is no way I would go to a private school so that must make my chances go down.

I imagine if I try to get into a public school, to pay more like 50k (not 100k), it is just as hard to get into as medical school...

Does that sound right to you guys? So when people say they got in with lower scores they must be talking about private schools...

I'm not a PT but that's really how it sounds...

So, not including private schools, does anyone know what the easiest 10 public schools to get in are - and just how hard is it to get in these??? That seems to be the big question and focus that people aren't looking at...

Thanks

i'd have to disagree, medical school is a whole other ball game.

Clearly depends on the school. I wrote a post on DPT stating my opinion on what different schools look for in each student. I cant speak for any school, but I experianced it

Summary
Some schools look at GRE/GPA/VOLUNTEER/ETC and make decision without an interview
Some schools look at GRE/GPA/VOLUNTEER/ETC then do interview to see if you click and match the program
Some schools look at GPA/Volunteer/interview. Dont give a dam for GRE

Waiting lists for schools are long especially schools that are public. Private schools have long waiting list but the chances of you getting in is high b.c people dont see themselves paying that much money for something they can get cheap.

"anyone know what the easiest 10 public schools to get in are - and just how hard is it to get in these???"
-Haha Good luck
-I give you a hint. 3 New programs that just opened up. My friend with a 3.2 GPA 1000 GRE got in one of the programs =]. He says its not that much competition b.c it is a new program and the price is reasonable.
-I give too much info away so Im saving this for my friends =]

go to the cheapest school PERIOD

Sounds very good, do you have any suggestions sir? I am debating between a DPT or trying to get into med school after I do all the prereqs.

Don't be so scared about getting into medical school, especially osteopathic. You can get into PCOM or LECOM with 19 & 20 MCAT, and 3.1 GPA, and don't let anyone in here tell you any different, because they have no clue. 😎. I do want to mention that even though you can get in with these stats, there are fewer seats available for someone with this applicant profile. If you go through a post-bac program at these school and end up with those stats your chances are good. My sister did it. Good luck! :luck:

Med school is not cheap lol.. You going to have loans off of loans.. However, there are numerous places (indian reservation, HRSA, Military, etc) willing to pay for EVERYTHING. All they want is your soul.

Cheap DPT programs.
Look at the ones in your state first.
The school in Galveston is cheap
Texas Womans is decent
Look for public schools..
