problem with grades, help!

Okay guys, I'm freaking out. I was accepted to an osteopathic school and sent in my deposit and everything. Here's the problem, I'm taking my last quarter of bio (plant bio) and I didn't pass the class. (I'm still trying to make a case to the professor to bump up my grade to a C-, but I don't know if that's going to work). Am I going to get my admission withdrawn? I've already taken three quarters of bio adjacently with two quarters of lab. This plant bio class also had lab. Are they going to withdraw my admission because I didn't pass? This leaves me short a quarter of bio lab. The admissions director wasn't available to talk to me so I'm going to try again on Monday. Has anyone been in a similar situation before? What did you do? I'm really scared this is going to affect my admission. 🙁

Firstly, calm down and take a deep breath.

I would take to the prof and see if there is anything extra you can do to pull your grade up to a C. Explain the seriousness of your situation in a calm manner.

If that doesn't work you should call the school and explain the situation and ask them what you should do. Is there time in the summer to take another class so you will have a full year of labs? Do you have any other classes that could take the place of this class, any upper level classes in the same subject?

i ran into a similar situation in a course after my acceptance. However, my professor was a jerk and he wouldn't make the final worth more for me even though i was flying around to different schools back to back and missed seven days of class right before the second exam. However, i got like 93 percent on final and got a C in the class. I aced my other two classes. And, i also aced the spring semester. The adcom didn't say anything. So, don't worry just do well in spring quarter.

first If this is not a requirment then dont worry ...they probably dont even know your taking it, or care......

Im thinking, what would your med school do if you were short one requirment...will they really withdraw your acceptance,,sound really extreme to me or will they have you take it some other time, or find an equivalent class or give you a waiver....I dont know...

but you seem to indicate it IS your bio lab requirment so first you should probably contact the school and see if some other class which you had taken fulfills this and if not start looking into summer classes..(I know the idea of summer school sucks).....

If it is part of your prerequisites, then you MUST pass. If it is not, it will not matter.

Hi, thanks for asking. It is a VERY busy time and I dont have much spare time. But lately I have needed to take a break so of course I turned to SDN for a time waster 😀 Med school does take your breath away and at times you can feel like you are drowing. But I keep telling my self I asked to be here, so I can't complain 😉 Hope things are going well with you!!!
