Problem with Primary Application

Hey everbody!

I hope all is well!

I took my MCATs on August 18 and finished everything in my primary application but have not received some of my recommendations. I am now getting worried because I asked for four recommendations since July and three of them still havent submitted it yet. Can i submit my primary ASAP or I have to wait for there recommendations? Also, they are submitting it through Interfolio and interfolio says processing time is 4 weeks! Yikes! I am applying to post bach programs which require you to submit everything(primary and secondary) by November 1st. What should I do?

You can (and should) submit your primary so that it can get verified ASAP. You can submit your primary (and start working on secondaries) independently of the status of your letters. Since most schools don't review your application until everything is in anyway, your letters not being in are mostly only going to be a problem if you've completed secondaries and are still waiting for them.

Submit the primary now to get verified, its independent of LORS.

Where did you find out about interfolio processing time? Are they saying it takes 4 weeks to get to LORs into interfolio or for the LORS to be transfered to AMCAS? 😕

Interfolio is very fast and is unlikely to be the bottleneck.

Submit your primary now. LORs, new grades, and new MCATs can come later.

The verification process (for your transcript) is likely to take a long time.

However, the school's reviewing process of your verified primary application will also take about as long (depending on your stats and how many review cycles your app has to go through, and whether you need new class/grades/LORs/MCATs to be considered - this is school-dependent).

One quick question...if I submit my primary now, it should be verified by mid/end of October. Will my secondaries be due on November 1st, the day most med schools are due? Or is this due date just for primaries?

That is the date for primaries. Your secondaries will be due whenever the individual school deadline is.
