Okay guys. So I took the DAT a little while ago, and its extremely embarrassing for me to post these scores but I made a 16 AA and 16 TS, 18 PAT.
18 orgo
15 bio
12 gen chem
15 qr
19 rc
18 pat

Obviously, I'm not going to get in this cycle, however- my question to you guys is should I still apply everywhere? I applied to about 12 schools and have received supplementals from the majority of schools. Should I apply? I know for a fact I can do much better on this exam, atleast a 20- I only had exactly 20 days to study because of all classes. Do you guys think I should apply so the schools atleast can compare me. Also, I've heard its better to be a reapplicant. I don't mind spending the money, its just, I don't know if it will hurt me or help me when applying next cycle.

You've already answered your own questions.

Good luck.🙂

So you guys don't think I should spend the money on supplementals for this cycle? I've already spent the initial around 1500 to send everything to the schools. I was thinking of applying and then when I get rejected contacting the schools and telling them I am going to reapply and come back stronger.

I'd apply. Why not? You're already this far in. You're planning on applying next cycle anyways but the odd chance you do get in this cycle could be worth it.

OP, what are your thoughts regarding a retake?

OP, you got a 12 on your score report. A 15 is barely passable if the score is for QR, but a 12 is just awful, no matter what section. I'm not trying to be mean, but your application will be instantly thrown out at every school you apply to. Save the money, study hard for the retake, and apply next year.

Good luck!

You could go ahead and apply and retake the DAT by December. If all your other stats are good, they could put your application on hold for your new DAT scores and then you could aim for a 20+ when you retake it.

I know for a fact I will have to have a retake and destroy the DAT this time. The problem for this semester is I'm taking a pretty heavy course load, so I need to get all A's.. So what I was thinking is that I will spend december and january studying hardcore and take it beginning of February and then applying and having every single thing in as soon as the applications come out and apply to damn 25+ schools lol

True, you don't think they will even look at anything else? I mean of course as soon as they look at it, they'll toss it.. but even if there is a 5% chance of them thinking since I'm a reapplicant it'll help me- I'm willing to apply to all schools. Money is not the issue if it will help me even a tiny bit. I think I'm just going to apply everywhere and then email them all telling them I will come back much stronger next cycle

I suppose that you could apply just to show that you have (hopefully) improved your scores in the future. I'm not sure if it would help much, but if you really feel that it could help, go for it. I would avoid the email idea though.

I would retake 100%...don't waste the money. Btw I know what your name means fellow indian buddy 😛

It is the SDN way. Why bother to click a few buttons when you can have someone else do it for you.
Hah! You, doc toothache, have just, once again, reaffirmed your koalafications; you undoubtedly have bigger fish to fry. 😛
