Problems when signing up for PTCB..help!??

Can anyone tell me the steps they took to successfully sign up for the PTCB!????

i went to the website www.ptcb.org and i made an account.
they asked me about my training..but i didn't get any training. I just studied the book and i wanna take the test. so what do i put when they ask for that???

and i clicked on register for the exam, but i didn't finish it because i don't want to take it any time soon...by filling out some of the information..did they sign me up for a day already??


and they give us a window or something..how does that work exactly????

and since this is my first time taking the ptcb...the www.ptcb.org website sent me to this other website http://www.pearsonvue.com/ptcb/
and i tried making an account but they asked me for my PTCB ID
whats my PTCB ID????

If I'm not mistaken, there is another forum where this thread should be posted. I wish I could give you an answer because you are doing the same thing I did when I took the test, but I took mine in 10/05. I'm sure things have changed since then and I really can't remember what I did or if it was even asked of me. Try posting under the pharmacy licensure and exams forum and see if you get an answer faster.

You don't need to put anything for training. I studied from a book and I just said none of the above, self-study, etc. Or "Other" if that was an option. I had no experience and nobody sponsored me so I believe my situation is similar to yours. Registering is NOT the same as scheduling your exam date. You need to register at PTCB first. They will send you an email or there will be an ATT (authorization to test) letter available on the site that will have your PTCB CID. You then use that at the Pearson Vue website to sign up and choose a day. I believe you MUST take your PTCB exam within 2-3 months or something of registering? Good luck and hope that helps!
