Problems with verified AACOMAS?

After verification of the AACOMAS, did anyone receive a GPA that is lower by 0.05? Also, has anyone got their AACOMAS verified that went to a school that had quarter system. I was under credited by 20 semester hours. Anyone have this problem?

According to the instructions, you must have quarter hours converted to semester hours. For example, 4.0 quarter hours = 2.7 semester hours according to the instructions...is this correct? I thought so, but when I received my verified AACOMAS back, it changed it to 3.0 semester hours (like AMCAS does). I already emailed AACOMAS. Does anyone have any insight into this?

AACOMAS has 3 numbers after the decimal point in their calculations while my university used only two, so I attributed the slight decrease in my GPA to that. (Sorry I don't know anything about the hours.)

Just for anyone who has or had the same question as I did. I called up AACOMAS and spoke with someone. I heard promptly the next day and there was an error to my application and I was undercredited 30 semester hours. So, review your GPA calculations for accuracy.

Yes. Overall, it was decreased by 0.05. It is a not a whole lot, however, those 30 semester hours were mainly science courses, so my sGPA should go up. I wanted to accurately reflect all the courses I've taken.

how did you calculate your gpa? did you use the scale where an A-=3.67 or 3.7? and also, when they calculate the science gpa do they include "behavioral sciences" and "other sciences"?

behavioral and other sciences are not included in the science g.p.a. behavioral sciences has its own g.p.a as does other sciences.

according to the FAQ:
"The Science category would include all courses with subjects of Biology, Organic, Biochemistry, Other Science, Physics, and Inorganic Chemistry. Non-science would include courses with subjects of Math, English, Behavioral Sciences, and Non-science."

Its really not as bad as it sounds. If you feel that a substantial amount of science was covered in the course and you did well, you should mark it as science. Worst comes to worst, they will change it.

Math hurt me. I had 8 credits of B's in Calc. My science GPA was a 3.6 on AMCAS. If it wasn't for that stupid math I would have close to a 3.7.
