What are you all paying for each vial of contrast?

Our ortho practice uses a lot of contrast. I asked our procurement person what we paid per vial of contrast omni 240 10ml and she said $35.30. Purchased from Besse.
That price seems high to me for a high volume ortho practice using lots of contrast.

1-Can you please share with me how much you all pay for omni 240 and where you get it from if cheaper than mine?

$99.01 currently for a box of 10 50 mL bottles from Henry Schein.
On Henry Schein, the current “list price” is 631.99$ for 10x 50mL vials of Omnipaque 240.

With the Group Purchasing Organization rate we have through ASIPP that price goes down to about 97$ for the same order.

Actually there are a lot of relevant medications, needles, and supplies that are heavily discounted through the ASIPP GPO on Henry Schein making membership worth it just for this alone for the OBS practice component.

Very rarely I’ll find a better deal on medline or some other vendor.

Hope that’s helpful

I used the GPO before to purchase contrast for my own practice many years ago.

I thought a big ortho group would get a better deal on contrast!

I’ve been an IPSIS member for years though my membership has lapsed. I can’t remember if I have to been an active member to use the GPO?

Edit, it looks like Pedspal membership is free.

I wonder about asking the practice to pay for an ASIPP membership if that allows the practice to also buy needles and meds for the orthopedists at a discount?

Does anyone here use Isovue? We have Isovue in the ASC and Omnipaque in the hospital.
