Does anyone know if lead lined room is required in Texas for using fluroscopy and is a Radiology Tech mandatory or MA will suffice.

1. Lead lined room is not required for c-arm.

2. Xray tech is not required either. However, a qualified person must activate the radiation beam. Translation: the doctor needs a foot pedal.

I do procedures in my office with my RN. I think there is a course your staff can take to qualify, but it's a rather arduous home study affair and costs several hundred dollars.
 
RN's that are moving the C-arm per MD order is fine in Texas.

The RN must register with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.

I have set-up Fluoro suites with a RN giving "moderate sedation" and a Medical Assistant moving the C-arm per MD order. This combo works pretty well.
