Which types of procedures are involved? What type of person would best fit this specialty?

I'm still a student who is matching this year so take this however you want.

NRMP match data is the most objective data out there to get an honest assessment of your chances. With that said, if you want to match into Anesthesiology go do it, however, be realistic with your rank list. If you think you're a weak applicant and you have it in your schedule then do as many aways as possible because, at least in my opinion, there is nothing more valuable than making connections at different programs and showing them your work ethic and competence and letting your potential speak through strong letters.

i had slightly better stats as a DO with no research. my interviews came late and from undesirable programs but i had enough interviews to decline some. apply low and broadly!
