Hey guys,

Please let me know what you guys know about the difference between the two. I was under the impression that if AAMC says, "Processed," the schools got my whole primary application to be reviewed.

BUT, I just got this e-mail from my pre-med advisor:
"AMCAS will tell you on the status page that your letters have been TRANSMITTED and put a date next to each school. This is not the same as a processed application. It is not the same as a school sending you the secondary application. It is specifically your AMCAS application, in total, and verified being sent to the individual medical schools you specified."

I am very confused. Let me hear what you guys know about this!!

Thanks.

The electronic app is relatively new. Last year they told students when their apps were transmitted to each school on the dynamic welcome page. This year they're not listing it. The school will download your app on a regular download cycle once it is processed. You'll know they've downloaded it only by getting information from them and if they don't screen for secondaries, you can get a secondary after they just get your biographical data, potentially very soon after you submit.

Are you for sure that they are not listing it on the dynamic welcome page this year?

Last year no apps were transmitted until 7/15 at the earliest. I find it strange that they're not letting you see when you get transmitted this year. Is this true? Interesting.

I highly doubt that anyone has had anything other than their biological info transmitted as of yet. That's why you've some have gotten secondaries already. None of the screened ones yet, though.

There was a better post on the subject, but I lost it.
