So I'm a little worried about my lack of ECs.

All I have done is a bunch of shadowing with a variety of dentists and some volunteering for the salvation army and a local hospital's emergency department. I have no leadership roles in my clubs, nor do I have research.

Anyone getting invites with relatively high DAT scores, but a low gpa and few ECs? I'm definitely not seeing many on predents.

I think a low GPA is worse than having less ECs, but at this point its out of ur hands. you can do a predents search to see what happened to people with similar stats as you.

Your GPA is not that low, and I don't think lack of leadership role or research will be the deciding factor. You'll hear from a school soon. Not every applicant can be an officer in a club nor have an interest in research. Some schools don't even do much research.

You also submitted Aug 1, so I wouldn't be too worried yet! It's still early Sept.

Just make sure if you do a predents search you search last years applicants. At this point in the cycle it's early applicants and cream of the crop being interviewed at most schools.

My app was complete when I submitted. It was mailed on the 12th. I know it's far too early to actually be worried about this (though I can't always seem to convince myself of that). I just wanted to see other's insight about my app's weaknesses.
