I have a problem speaking professionally in situations, especially when I get nervous and get a little gittery.
Part of it is linguistic since I didn't speak a word of English until 13, so I sometimes would say things with unintended connotations. Nuisances of a language.
I think I'm going to try toastmasters, but otherwise, any particular suggestions?

Do lots of practice interviews at your undergrad to ease your nerves - I'm assuming the interviews are what you're worried about here

I think toastmasters is a great idea, a public-speaking class at your school might be another. It's uncomfortable the first few times, but you'll get used to talking under pressure amazingly quickly.
