Professional memberships?

If I had to pick one pediatric organization to become a member of, which one should I pick? Which one is most beneficial as a fourth year student going into peds... and which will look best on a CV?

Well, I belong to none, which apparently hasn't hurt me. I'd vote for the one that interests you the most and costs the least. I doubt that listing an organization that you joined a few months ago will make much difference on your application, too. Community service is always good.

Having a professional organization membership on your CV probably just means you shelled out the cash to join it, unless you are active in its leadership. Am I wrong here?
