Can anybody give guidance on what the timeline is like for ophthalmology? It seems we can submit the CAS materials right now...when do/can programs start downloading? When should we submit non-CAS materials? After our CAS applications have been processed?

I called SF match office a few days ago and the lady said the programs don't start reading applications until the end of September, and that there is no importance whether it's submitted from now until then (assuming your data is sent in and uploaded by Sept 1), the programs can't tell the difference whether you submitted on Aug 15 or Aug 21 etc...

This is just what I learned from SF match office, but you should call them yourself as well if you still have questions.

Look at last year's interview/rejection thread. Interviews were offered as early as August 30th. So at least some programs look at applications much earlier than late September.
