Program cut-offs?

Is there any links or sites about step 1 and step 2 cutoffs for residency programs? No point in applying to a program where you re already below their cutoffs? Obvsiously midtiers vs top programs will differ but what is generally most midteir programs cutoffs/screen criteria for step 1? 215? 220? 210?

Someone please answer this question. Matcharesident.com has something that's close to answering this but most of their IM programs say no minimum requirements which isn't very useful! Please help!!

There really isn't a hard cut-off. Some top programs choose 230+, others 225+, (some mid-tiers will do 200+ but no general hard cut-off) then AOA, honors in med and sub-i etc. Also, it depends on the applicant pool that year. Each program usually interview 10-15X the class size and if you don't get enough applicants, then those cut-offs can be lowered or raised. There are so many "AND" "OR" filters that there is no way of telling that this absolute number will get you an interview (well maybe if its something insane like 280+ then MAYBE).

Just apply where ever you feel you could reasonably go depending on your numbers (as usual have a good spread - few reach programs, mostly in-range program, few safety programs)

Not sure how accurate they are on AMA fredia because then you go on the programs website and it says something different. So who really knows

You can still get an interview if you are below the minimum. Though it's more unlikely. Something else would have to catch their eye or you could contact PD.
