This is dependent on if you’re a good non-cat obviously.
Iowa - heavily favors their students and non-cats
VCU - heavily favors their students and non-cats. basically if you extern and got an interview it means they want you. Pretty much know who they want to take before interview day and are confident they’ll get them.
UF gainesville likes taking their noncat for their 4 year spot
Cincinnati has taken 2 of their non-cats over the past 3 years. Supposedly they used to not take them but that’s changed I guess.
Arizona and Denver have a history of taking their noncats.
Christiana care and Oklahoma have taken their noncats.
If you’re a good non-cat it’s convenient to keep you because you know the hospital, faculty, clinic, etc. you’re up to speed day 1 since you’ve been there for a year already.
Some places don’t like taking their noncats-cats because they think they’ll get fewer applicants/interviewees if everyone thinks at least one spot is already being given to their current non-cat.
