How strict are most programs LOR requirements? Specifically OU. I see most programs want the premedical committee letter or faculty letter. I have been out of school for 6 years. However I have two MD's that I work with every day who are more than willing to write glowing LOR's. Is this sufficient? Do I need to contact old professors? Contact the program? Thanks for any and all help.

It's a good idea to read the website of the schools you are planning to apply to. The website will answer most general questions.

https://wwwp.oakland.edu/medicine/admissions/frequently-asked-questions/

"Applicants should submit a minimum of three letters of recommendation (maximum of five). If your premedical advising office provides a committee letter compiling feedback from multiple sources, this letter will count as two of your three required letters of recommendation. All letters should be submitted through AMCAS Letters of Evaluation/Recommendation Service.

We receive many questions about who should write letters of recommendation. We highly recommend you select writers who know you well and can speak to your qualifications for entering the field of medicine. It is a good idea to include at least one faculty member who has gotten to know you during the course of your studies. Letters from family members and/or friends are discouraged."

You need at least one faculty letter for OU. MD letters don't count for that. Sounds like for OU you can use the MD letters AND a faculty letter and you should meet the minimum requirements. Most schools typically require at least two science faculty letters, sometimes 3.
