Hey guys..

Planning on taking my MCAT in March but I would like to apply to some SMP programs that don't require MCAT…are there any SMPs that don't require MCAT initially? ALSO I CANNOT take or have GRE…I am currently preparing for MCAT.

I do plan on applying to various SMP programs after I receive my MCAT scores, but I would also like to go ahead and finish applications for programs that might not require MCAT right now. Please let me know if there are any programs like that…

Thanks,
SMPtoMD

Off the top of my head, I don't know of any SMPs that do not require any entrance examinations (i.e. MCAT and GRE). If you want to apply this cycle, perhaps you can contact the programs you are interested in and ask if you can send in your application with the MCAT score to follow; just so you get the ball rolling.

There's a program called GeorgeSquared because of its involvement with both George Mason University and Georgetown University. Their ABS (Advanced Biomedical Studies) program is a certificate program where you take upper level science courses. Students don't take medical courses, thus it's not an SMP. You had to have completed all premedical requirements. Since they don't require the MCAT, they offer MCAT prep.

I suggest looking for programs that take apps into June, vs. looking for programs that don't require an MCAT. You can apply with a late MCAT at Boston, Tufts, some of the Drexels. There are a lot of new programs - do lots of googling & reading here & you'll find them.

Best of luck to you.

case western reserve university has a program which only requires you to take the GRE. I know you said you cant take the GRE but honestly it doesnt need preparing. It is a very simple test. just brush up on some math skills and you are good. I got a 1380 and didnt study a day in my life for it. give it a try
