so i've read up on the faqs...is there a realistic chance for someone with...oh...lets say a 196 match into gas? also...there is talk of taking step 2 early...what score on step 2 would be considered "an improvement?"

also...i know the general consensus for individuals with sub 200 step 1 scores is that they need to honor every single clerkship. however, thats easier said than done, especially at a place like northwestern. is there any hope for someone who does NOT honor every or any clerkship?

Look at LSU, Arkansas, St Elizabeth Caritas, etc. You probably ought to use Scutwork to gauge this stuff, though.

196 is going to put you behind the 8-ball as of now, but there's hope. do some research and take step 2 early and study hard. this includes perhaps taking a month off during your m4 year to study for it. it's graded the same as step 1, and i hear it's a way to make up for a subpar score. and do the best you can during your m3 year. that's pretty much my advice.
