Programs with both Categorical Neurology and Preliminary IM Positions

Is it okay to apply to programs that have both categorical neurology and preliminary IM (just in case you did not match into their neuro)? Thanks!

i kind of have the same question. on ERAS some programs have 2 boxes you can check one for categorical and one for PGY2. do you check both of the boxes or do you just pick one? i'm assuming the categorical is more competitive. is their any disadvantage to checking both?
